Dr Jeff Cole: how global digital trends are transforming the way we live & work
November 19, 2013 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
The digital world is shifting and evolving, integrating into every aspect of the physical world at a rate that can be both astonishing and overwhelming. Everything is being re-imagined and rewired: the way we do business, the way we spend our leisure time, the way we live our lives. It is changing the fundamental ways in which we think, behave and connect as individuals and as a society.
In an action-packed keynote address and Q&A session, Dr. Jeff Cole, founder and director of the Center for the Digital Future at USC Annenberg, will present on how global digital trends are transforming the way we live and work.
Drawing on 13 years of data and insights from a worldwide study in 30 countries, Dr Cole, will separate myth from reality as he describes how the Internet and mobile technology are altering the fabric of daily life.
Will user-generated content successfully challenge content from traditional media? Is the web a continual threat to television, or can the two live and work together? How will advertising evolve in a digital era?
Equal parts inspiration and enlightenment, The Project will bring some much-needed context to these diverse threads of digital diaspora and provide a better understanding of global trends, today’s opportunities and tomorrow’s possibilities.
Whatever industry or interest, The Project is sure to provide unique insights that will enable New Zealanders to innovate and prosper on a global stage.
