From Endace to Emulex: Building a global network equipment manufacturer from New Zealand with Mike Riley

February 11, 2014 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Mike RileyAs CEO of Endace, Mike Riley helped build a global network equipment manufacturer listed on AIM with research and development based in New Zealand. Endace’s commercial genesis in 2001 was with the manufacture of the first high-speed DAG I/O cards capable of capturing 100% of network traffic. By 2005 DAG cards were in use in many of the major telcos, government agencies, and financial institutions around the globe.

Working closely with their customers, Endace developed and launched a range of ‘managed platforms’ that enabled central management, data mining and the ability to host multiple applications in virtual containers on the same physical system. From this insight the EndaceProbe was born. EndaceProbes quickly found favor with organizations wanting to deploy intelligent recording fabrics and run central data mining. Over the course of the last three years EndaceProbes have evolved and now include EndaceVision as standard, a powerful application for searching and retrieving recorded network traffic from anywhere across a global fabric.

In February 2013, Endace was acquired for NZ$156m by Emulex, a NYSE-listed company and leader in network connectivity, monitoring and management which provides hardware and software solutions for global networks that support enterprise, cloud, government and telecommunications.

Come and listen to Endace’s remarkable journey and how Mike helped build a global network equipment manufacturer from New Zealand.
