Mega was launched on 20th January 2013 and signed up 1 million users in 3 days. Built by the Megaupload team to a fixed launch date, Mega is built on 2012 technology and offers cutting edge features, such as automatic encryption/decryption in the browser. Vikram will talk about the business and technical challenges faced by Mega; how they were overcome; and lessons learnt.

Vikram has been CEO of Mega Ltd. since February 2013. Mega, billed as “The Privacy Company”, provides secure cloud storage and collaboration services. He was previously Chief Executive of InternetNZ, a not-for-profit policy and advocacy organisation. Vikram has been interested in the economic, social and political opportunities and challenges the Internet provides over the past two decades.
