Josh Daniell from Snowball Effect will present on the exciting topic of crowdfunding at our October networking event.
Crowdfunding is a method of raising funds that is growing rapidly around the world and increasingly for New Zealand software companies. Globally, crowdfunding platforms raised an estimated US$5 billion in 2013 and are expected to raise over US$9 billion in 2014.
Equity crowdfunding is a new process in NZ. It lets Kiwi companies raise funds by offering shares to the public online, and helps them to harness the power of their crowds to accelerate growth. It’s also exciting for investors – enabling everyday people to buy shares in companies that were previously inaccessible to the public.
Snowball Effect is the leading the way in NZ, and launched the first ever equity crowdfunding offer in NZ in August.
