Plan to Wind Up the NZSA
At the EGM on 12th April 2022 a motion was approved to wind up the NZSA. A high level plan was discussed and agreed to complete the wind up by November 2022. Due to unforeseen circumstances, some wind up activities were not completed in the time agreed. Consequently, the NZSA will complete operational wind up activities by 31st March 2023. We will formally close the books and make remaining funds available for distribution. The primary purpose of this EGM is to discuss and approve the distribution of residual funds.
Proposal for distribution of funds
Following the 12th April 2022 EGM, NZSA members had the opportunity to submit proposals for the distribution of funds. There were several proposals, as well as suggestions for continuing the NZSA in a different form, which we have explored in detail. A review of the proposals and suggestions will be released by 15th March. This review describes what was proposed, level of member interest, constitutional eligibility, practicality, and value to the membership. The review concludes with recommendations. We will discuss and review the recommendations, and a motion will be tabled to approve the distribution of funds. All NZSA members registering to attend the EGM will be sent a copy of the report prior to the meeting, and it will also be available on the NZSA website after 15th March.
