Brace for Impact – Cyberthreats to your business and customers

April 10, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Edwin Lim

Edwin LimIf you think cyberattacks and ransoms are straight out of a bad action movie, look no further than the havoc caused by the Panama Papers leak, the WannaCry attack, and the recent exploitation of Facebook data by Cambridge Analytica. The importance of cybersecurity is growing more critical by the day. We are continuing to witness new attacks and exploitation on an unprecedented scale here in New Zealand, and across the globe.

How ready is your business to deal with cyberthreats? Do you know what measures you can take to protect your business, customers, and information? Developing software using security by design methodology is only part of the story – everyone has a role to play.

Edwin Lim has worked with many software businesses over the last decade, dealing with the consequences of cyberattacks and forming plans to proactively address future threats. Join us for this insightful look into the impact cyberattacks can have, and the hard lessons that businesses have had to learn. Ed will also explore the impact on your customers and the security demands they are now making of software and service providers.

Ed is a partner at technology law firm, Hudson Gavin Martin, and has many years of experience working with software businesses on managing their risks. Ed is also responsible for the firm’s IT infrastructure, strategy, and cybersecurity, and will give an insight into what he is doing to ensure his business can deal with cyberthreats.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The NZSA is a great opportunity to help advance your business through meeting and networking with Auckland’s software community leaders. Plus, each event includes wine tasting and a two-course meal.
